Druid

Druids live in a state of unparalleled union with nature. Tightly bound to the plant and animal kingdoms, they are natural shapeshifters, and so they know firsthand the abuse visited on their wild brethren. In consequence, despite their numbers, druids tend to be wary, reclusive, and difficult to spot. Few outsiders have plumbed the depths of their secrets.

What's changed in WoW Forever

A summary of Blizzard's Class Deep Dive articles. They were published during the beta, so numbers and talents may differ in the live game.

Druids stay rooted in versatility and their connection to nature. Shapeshifting feels more fluid and useful across the game, and Balance, Feral Combat and Restoration each get stronger.[1]

Druid as the developers describe it

With the right gear and talents, Druids can fill any role, but they can't snare, Silence or Interrupt, and their crowd control is weaker. They rely on others for the complete toolkit.

Baseline abilities

  • All potions and almost all similar consumables can be used while shapeshifted, and they don't cancel your form.
  • Weapon enchantments and procs work while shapeshifted, including weightstones, Crusader and Windfury Totem.
  • In Bear, Cat and Dire Bear Form, your melee auto attack DPS matches the DPS of your equipped weapon.
  • Most doors and objects can be used while shapeshifted, and so can racial abilities.
  • Nature's Grasp (level 10) and Omen of Clarity (level 20) are now baseline for every Druid, whatever your specialization.
  • Lacerate is learned at level 42. It applies a Bleed that stacks up to 5 times and generates high threat.
  • Revive is learned at level 12. It's a new out-of-combat resurrection spell.

Balance talents

  • Nature's Splendor (11-point gold medal): increases the duration of Moonfire, Rejuvenation, Regrowth and Insect Swarm.
  • Insect Swarm moves into Balance as the 16-point gold medal. It deals Nature damage over 12 seconds and reduces the target's chance to hit.
  • Moonkin Form's party critical strike bonus now applies to all spells and attacks, and you can cast all non-healing spells in Moonkin Form.
  • Eclipse (new row 5 talent): casting Wrath reduces the cast time of your next 2 Starfire casts.

Feral Combat talents

  • This row has two 16-point gold medals: Shifting Power for Cat Form instantly grants 40 Energy, and Primal Bite for bears is a melee attack that generates very high threat.
  • Berserk (31-point gold medal): for 15 seconds, you're immune to Fear, Primal Bite has no cooldown, and your Cat Form combo abilities get 100% more critical strike chance.
  • Thick Hide has been redesigned: your armor in forms grows with Defense skill bonuses, so Druid tanks benefit from Defense items like other tanks.
  • Feral Charge (11-point gold medal) now also has a version for Cat Form.

Restoration talents

  • Gift of the Earthmother (11-point gold medal): reduces the global cooldown of Rejuvenation, Swiftmend and Wild Growth by 0.5 seconds.
  • Swiftmend moves up to the 16-point gold medal and no longer consumes the target's Rejuvenation or Regrowth.
  • Wild Growth (31-point gold medal): puts a heal over time lasting 7 seconds on every member of the target player's party, including pets.
  • With 5 points in Furor, you regenerate Energy outside Cat Form, but that Energy is lost when you shift into Bear Form.

For all classes

  • Talents start at level 10 and keep the familiar tree structure: one-point milestone talents at 11, 21 and 31 points, now joined by a new 16-point milestone.[2][1][3][4][5]
  • Key class buffs that used to come from talents, such as Blessing of Kings and Improved Mark of the Wild, are now baseline for their classes.[1][5]
  • To change talents, including Legacy talents, visit a class trainer in a major city. Dual Specialization becomes available at level 40.[2][1][3][4][5]
  • These summaries are based on articles published during the beta, so numbers and talents may differ in the live game. This site's talent calculator uses the official live data.[2][1][3][4][5]
