Forever Tool Recorder addon

Record the loot, quest NPCs and tame spots you see in game and send them to the site with one paste. You can also take a talent calculator build into the game and learn it as is.

Install

  1. Unzip it and put the ForeverTool folder into _forever_\Interface\AddOns in your game folder (for example C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_forever_\Interface\AddOns\ForeverTool).
  2. Start the game and check that Forever Tool Recorder is enabled under AddOns at the bottom left of the character select screen.
  3. Type /ft in game to open the recorder window.

What it records

Dungeon and raid loot
Uncommon (green) or better items shown in the loot window, roll window or boss loot notice. Loot within 3 minutes of a boss kill gets that boss's name.
Quest NPCs and spots
The NPC (or object such as a board) that opened the quest accept or turn-in window, and your map coordinates at that moment.
Tamed beasts and spots
Name and level of the beast a hunter finished taming, and your map coordinates at that moment.
Current talents · Onyxia attunement
Read only when you export. Talents become a calculator link and attunement fills the raid page checklist (neither is sent to the server).

It does not record drop chances, account or character names, chat or combat logs.

Send to the site

  1. In game, type /ft, press Export and copy the text with Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C.
  2. Paste it in the box below, press Read to check it, then press Send to site.
  3. After sending you can empty the recorder with Clear records. Sending the same things again counts them only once.

Paste the whole Export text from the in-game recorder (it starts with FT1:).

Take a talent build into the game

  1. Set up a build in the talent calculator and press Copy link.
  2. In game, type /ft, open Talent build, paste the link and press Compare to see the talents still to learn.
  3. Press Learn these talents to spend the points it can. Talents already spent differently can only be changed after a reset at your class trainer.

Good to know

  • Following Blizzard's addon policy it is free and its code is readable as is. It shows no ads or site promotion in game.
  • The addon never connects to the internet. Only text you copy and paste yourself reaches the site.
  • The site stores IPs and browser keys only as hashes, and shows a report only when different players sent the same thing. Report mistakes through the contact address on the About page.
  • NPC and boss names differ per game language, so a name shows on a language's pages only when someone sent it in that language.
